16 November 2009In his address, Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen called for greater regional co-operation and collaboration to strengthen financial institutions, with Hong Kong and Singapore leading the way. He also stressed on the importance of keeping to the Asian values and not condoning the behaviors demonstrated by Wall Street in recent times. Mr Tsang also called for Asia to explore a single currency regime as one of the key steps leading to a global currency system, although he acknowledged that any sort of financial integration would take years.
